Meet Our Team: Brent Loebig
Brent Loebig, Partner
HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED AT GILMAN PARTNERS?
Almost five years
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT WORKING AT GILMAN PARTNERS?
I love our approach to treating clients like they are the top priority and really value the teamwork among our group to complete a search.
IN WHICH AREAS OF RECRUITING DO YOU SPECIALIZE?
Executive management finance, accounting, IT, and professional services with many searches in the consumer goods/manufacturing, financial services and real estate industries.
HOW DO YOU SEE THE PRACTICE OF RECRUITING/RETAINING EMPLOYEES CHANGING IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?
The competition for top talent will continue to intensify. Smart employers will be very intentional about retaining their best employees by creating career growth and appropriate financial incentives. To attract new talent, companies will have to offer real opportunities for making an impact and a compelling culture fit.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE CHALLENGES FACING INDUSTRIES/POSITIONS FOR WHICH YOU MOST OFTEN RECRUIT?
Recruiting will continue to evolve with new technologies, but personal service to our clients will never go out of style. Our clients retaining their top performing employees will depend on their strong communication and communicating where each employee stands and what their potential can be.
IF YOU COULD GIVE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE TO COMPANIES LOOKING TO HIRE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Consider candidates who are great "athletes" and can use their success in one area to grow into a new area.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU OFFER TO TODAY’S JOB SEEKERS?
Be very honest with what you're looking for in a new role. It would be a mistake to take a job that's offered, knowing that your heart isn't in the role, and leading you to make another change within a short amount of time.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
I love to golf, cycle, and watch most sports. I enjoy music – listening, as I certainly can’t play any instruments – and I love food, both eating and cooking
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEAL TO COOK?
Breakfast – with eggs, bacon, toast, avocado, fruit, etc. My oldest son is a personal trainer and is helping me focus on healthier ways to cook meals that still taste great.
IF YOU WERE ABLE TO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU MOST WANT TO KNOW HOW TO PLAY?
Guitar. I wish I could play like Eric Clapton.
