HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED AT GILMAN PARTNERS?

14 years

WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO GILMAN PARTNERS?

I worked for Tom Gilman at our previous company, so once he bought Gilman Partners I joined him here. We already knew we worked well together and I wanted to try something new, so I was excited to make the jump.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT WORKING AT GILMAN PARTNERS?

I love that every day is different and I never do the same thing twice. There are always new clients, new candidates, and new searches. I love that after 14 years with a company, I am still able to come in every day and be challenged.

IN WHICH AREAS OF RECRUITING DO YOU SPECIALIZE?

I work mostly with IT, consulting, and executive searches.

HOW DO YOU SEE THE PRACTICE OF RECRUITING CHANGING IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?

People say, “with today’s technology, anyone can recruit”.  And that’s true.  What’s really important now is understanding the company culture and job to match up candidates that will be successful both on the job AND in the company.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU OFFER TO TODAY’S JOB SEEKERS?

Before you begin your job search you should know who you are and what you are really looking for. Have a clear understanding of what you want in a company and in a culture, and be honest about those expectations up front.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?

I love to travel. The travel bug bit me when I was 10 years old and travelled to Morocco with my parents. In addition to traveling, I’m a big soccer fan and try to go to as many FC Cincinnati games as possible. I have two Australian Shepherds and a daughter trying to figure out where she’ll attend college, so I stay really busy.

WHERE ARE YOUR FAVORITE TRAVEL DESTINATIONS AND WHERE ARE YOU STILL HOPING TO GO?

My favorite places are definitely Greece and Italy, but I also love Egypt and St. Petersburg, Russia. I lived in Mexico City for two and a half years, so I have a special place in my heart for the Mexican culture…and the food! I have to admit I’m a bit of a taco snob now. Still on my travel bucket list are South America to see Machu Picchu, Buenos Aries, Argentina, and an African safari. My daughter and I are taking a cruise soon and will be in Barcelona during the World Cup. We can’t wait!

WHERE ARE YOUR LOCAL GO-TO SPOTS FOR TACOS?

My two favorite places to get tacos in the Cincinnati area are Mazunte or La Mexicana in Newport.
