  The Corporate Accounting Supervisor will directly lead a team of account technicians while reporting directly to the department manager of Corporate Accounts Receivable.  The position will evolve as you gain experience and develop your understanding of our organization and the insurance industry; you will work closely with the department manager, other receivables managers and manage a team of account technicians and will be assigned a variety of responsibilities that may change frequently. There will be considerable interactions with all levels of Corporate Accounts Receivable, Corporate Finance and with other departments around the company.  The position will be based in Corporate Finance at headquarters in the northern part of Cincinnati, Ohio.

  • Gather, analyze and report accounts receivable stats
  • Interact with independent insurance agencies, banks, payment processors and various internal departments
  • Research and forecast the impact of new technologies on insurance receivables
  • Understand insurance policies including issuance, billing, premium receivable, commission payable, and reconciliation techniques
  • Test and participate in changes to commission schedules, rates and derivations
  • Supervise general ledger accounting team, working across departments to ensure timely and accurately posting
  • Complete account reconciliations on daily and/or monthly basis
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, including departmental and corporate level projects
  • Test changes to multiple systems to ensure accurate general ledger interfaces and journal entry
  • Understand and stay up to date on legal, regulatory and compliance components of accounts receivable, including payment security standards, card brand rules and ACH rules
  • Handle special projects as needed


Additional Responsibilities and Attributes  

  • Provide leadership and expertise for all aspects of accounts receivable activities, including related production processes, analysis, internal reporting, related compliance and administrative requirements
  • Ensure policies, procedures and practices are documented and followed by working with internal and external auditors as required
  • Provide direction and guidance to develop associates
  • Prepare or lead preparation of reports and processes which summarize and forecast receivables activity
  • Create, implement, evaluate and enhance internal control processes
  • Recognize the need for change, take personal responsibility to adapt to change and lead others through change
  • Demonstrate energy and desire to succeed; follow through on commitments; push self and others to deliver exceptional results




  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • MBA/CPA preferred
  • Insurance accounting or insurance operations background preferred
  • Five to ten years of receivables management experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Superior written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving talent
  • Ability to work independently under time constraints while recognizing when to ask for assistance
  • Excellent presentation skills
