JOB SUMMARY: Responsibility for the accounting and financial reporting for a large, high-profile client whose retail center generates over $6.5M in annual rents with a tenant mix of national and local retailers.  This position will also be responsible for managing the financial transactions for several properties (20-30) in our portfolio.  Working closely with the Finance and Accounting Manager and the property management team, the Senior Property Accountant will perform the day-to-day accounting and financial processes related to assigned properties while also preparing variance analyses, forecasts and budgets

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares the monthly financial statements and variance analysis for multiple entities with accuracy and within a very quick timeframe
  • Completes all monthly account reconciliations for cash, receivables, payables, accruals, and lender obligations/Assist with the annual budget process
  • Works with the Accounting Specialist to resolve issues with posting cash receipts and researching outstanding balances
  • Assist with the annual reconciliation of CAM, insurance and real estate taxes
  • Works with the Accounting Specialist to ensure Accounts Payable is properly entered, coded and approved
  • Performs lease administration in the accounting software
  • Must be able to work independently and be able to work with all levels of the organization across all departments
  • Represents the Company in a professional manner, maintaining a professional and courteous attitude when dealing with tenants, coworkers, and the general public

 

IDEAL CANDIDATES’ QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Experience with property management software required; Sage CRE and MRI experience highly desirable/working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills are essential
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and establish priorities
  • 4+ years’ experience in accounting and financial analysis, within a commercial real estate environment
  • Willing to adapt to a small, yet highly professional, office environment, which requires performing a large breadth of job functions
  • Must be very detail-oriented, yet still possess the analytical skills needed to prepare financial analyses
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in decision making/able to adapt to change
