Nūrtūr is looking to add an Institute Director in Cincinnati, Ohio who will provide leadership, drive growth, and support the success of the Aveda Institute located in West Chester.

The Cincinnati Institute serves approximately 280 students with a total staff of 33. At the Institutes, students receive invaluable, hands-on experience while providing services to a trendy and diverse clientele. When students graduate, they are prepared for a fulfilling career in the beauty industry.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Uphold the Nurtur Core Values and Behaviors and Aveda Success Factors
  • Plan and grow the Institute as a profitable business while maintaining the philosophical standards as established by Aveda Corporation
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of education, student resources, admissions, financial aid, and guest care by prioritizing resources, facilitating alignment of the team, setting high expectations, inspiring commitment, encouraging mutual support, and enabling development opportunities
  • Provide ongoing recognition, support, and motivation for all Institute team members and students
  • Cultivate an environment where team members respect and adhere to company core values
  • Facilitate and lead regularly scheduled meetings, huddles, and one-on-ones with team members and attend leadership meetings as required
  • Work closely with the Human Resources Manager to facilitate effective recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes, including but not limited to communicating staffing needs, conducting interviews, training new hires, coaching team members, and following appropriate disciplinary and termination procedures
  • Maintain an active oversight of the Instructor Training Program, ensuring compliance between the curriculum and state board requirements
  • Create a sense of urgency, delegate appropriately, and motivate self and the team to accomplish objectives
  • Implement and model exceptional customer service standards by ensuring unparalleled experiences
  • Provide guidance and support in developing action plans to address areas or people requiring improvement and ensure compliance with company standards
  • Promote a guest- and student-focused environment, demonstrate adaptability and sponsor continuous learning
  • Conduct team member annual reviews, observe classroom and clinic floor education, and make recommendations for training
  • Play a pivotal role in the revenue-generating departments (Admissions and Guest Care) by shadowing Admissions Representatives on tours, meeting guests, and implementing growth and improvement strategies for each area
  • Ensure the Institute budget is developed, profit goals are met, programs are implemented, and the building and its equipment are maintained
  • Ensure all outcomes, accreditation, state board, federal, state and local regulations are met and ensure compliance with NACCAS, DOE, etc.
  • Ensure guest, student, and team member satisfaction
  • Participate in special events including career fairs, student recognition, Earth Month, etc.
  • Set the standard of professional conduct and appearance, being mindful that you represent both the Aveda brand as well as Nurtur Holdings.

 

The Key Requirements:

  • College education and/or degree or equivalent experience in the Beauty Education industry
  • 5-7 years of proven management experience, preferably in an education setting
  • Ability to work a flexible and/or on-call schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Exhibit self-direction, initiative, resourcefulness, and follow-through with the ability to work at a fast pace and handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate extreme professionalism and confidentiality in manner, dress, and conduct
  • Familiarity with resumes, professional networks, and various roles within organizations
  • Ability to set and achieve goals, implement decisions, and work under strict deadlines
  •  Ability to travel locally to events and for out-of-state training and events as necessary.
