ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Stairtek is a manufacturer and distributor of prefinished and unfinished hardwood stair parts as well as a leading line of laminate stair parts. In business for over 15 years and located in the Northern Kentucky / Greater Cincinnati Tri State area, their strategic Midwest location provides very short lead times to customers in 50 states and all of North America.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the development of strategic plans in collaboration with the Board and executive leadership team
  • Ensure that the plans, and the resulting strategies and budgets, are executed successfully

Operational Excellence

  • Work with operations leadership to identify opportunities to improve production efficiencies and address supply chain challenges
  • Introduce systems and procedures to ensure continued operational discipline
  • Manage through EOS implementation

Executive Team Leadership

  • Lead an executive team that includes the Chief Financial Officer, VP of Operations, Chief Revenue Officer, and Human Resources Manager.
  • Empower the team, through coaching and mentoring, to promote career growth and improved performance

P&L Responsibility

  • Drive topline revenue growth through existing products/channels as well as new products, services, and channel development
  • Focus on margin enhancement through operational efficiencies and supply chain improvements

Market Focus

  • Interact with key customers to understand the company’s strengths and opportunities
  • Gain insight into industry trends and competitive activity to drive innovation and new product initiatives
  • Partner with the Board to identify acquisition opportunities and ensure effective integration strategies

Organizational Leadership

  • Reinforce the company’s core values around character and integrity
  • Guide the organization and help shape the culture through the changes and challenges that accompany rapid growth
  • Help build and scale the sales organization to capitalize on market opportunities

Financial management

  • Work closely with the CFO to ensure that the company is meeting its financial targets
  • Establish and track key metrics to enable the executive team to evaluate progress and identify problems in a timely manner
  • Provide regular reports to the Board

 

THE KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or other advanced degree a plus
  • 10+ years in a key leadership position in a high-growth, profitable business
  • General management and P&L responsibility for a company, division, or manufacturing operation
  • Strong financial acumen and experience working with capital and credit providers
  • History of driving growth through acquisitions and new product introductions or new channel strategies
  • Experience being the face of an organization with employees, key customers, suppliers, and other community partners
  • Proven success as a “visionary” with the ability to solve the next obstacle
  • Relevant operations experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Team management experience with multiple direct reports from a variety of disciplines
  • Demonstrated success interacting with key customers to drive loyalty
  • Familiarity with building products/wood products a plus
  • Experience selling through big box retailers a plus
  • Demonstrated success working in a private equity-owned business
  • An entrepreneurial approach and “can do” attitude
