CLIENT SUMMARY: 

Our client is a privately held commercial construction and real estate investment company with broad projects and holdings throughout the United States. Currently the company controls over $1B in real estate investments located in 20 major markets throughout the United States. 

 

JOB SUMMARY:  

Our client has an immediate need for a construction project coordinator.  This person will assist the construction project managers ensure that the “behind the scenes” for construction projects run smoothly.    This is an opportunity to be deeply involved in projects and develop relationships  across the company.

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Upon commencement of new projects:
    • Load project budgets into job costing system
    • Gather, store, and maintain all contracts
    • Load contract parameters into system
  • Assist project manager in development and issuance of purchase orders:             
    • Get pricing and quotes from multiple vendors when needed
    • Code purchase orders into system accurately against the project
    • Maintain all contracts from vendors
    • Track status of purchase orders
    • Enter all invoices into system
    • Interact with vendors as needed for pricing, delivery, billing issues
  • Prepare regular and timely draw request packages:
    • Confirm all invoices are correctly coded to the correct project/project phase/etc.
    • Obtain lien waivers from sub-contractors if appropriate
    • Prepare any requested status reports
    • Issue checks to subcontractors
  • Coordinate with project manager on all budget updated
    • Enter change orders into system –revised budgets and parameters
    • Ensure revised contract is obtained and saved
  • Assist the project manager with ad hoc projects, reporting, and requests as needed

 

IDEAL CANDIDATES’ QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience working in construction industry
  • Experience with Yardi (preferred), MRI, or another similar tool
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to maintain open communication with construction project managers
