KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (JOB SUMMARY)

MCC is seeking a dynamic and talented Finance Manager to work collaboratively with and as a business partner the Plant Manager, Plant Controller, and other key members of their Batavia, Ohio team. They will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operational accounting, cost accounting and month end close/finance procedures. This role will be a key business partner to the Plant Manager. Additional key responsibilities include: 

  • Support all management objectives and implementations.
  • Contribute to the definition of the plant’s financial and accounting goals by continually scanning the organization for potential advancements to all relevant processes.
  • Drive improvements for organizational efficiencies, risk mitigation and management, data management, analysis and reporting.
  • Support existing operational processes and seek to identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiencies related to MRP, inventory management, production planning and data management.
  • Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls related to accounting and operational practices.
  • Support all accounting functions including General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
  • Support of select payroll and benefits functions as required.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements/operational reports and measure against prior results and/or targets, forecasts, or budgets.
  • Examine technical accounting issues to ensure compliance to appropriate standards (i.e., GAAP), local, state and federal requirements
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes and reviews/audits.
  • Additional project support and duties as necessary.

  

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • 5+ years as a leader and financial manager with a strong operational focus.
  • Proven success in a manufacturing or distribution environment with responsibilities for full accounting and financial functions.
  • Knowledge and experience in forecasting costs, assisting with budgeting, presenting results to leadership, driving productivity.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, in particular: required knowledge of Excel, creation and use of pivot tables
