Nūrtūr is looking to add a General Manager in Columbus who will provide leadership, drive growth, and support the Aveda Institute and Salon + Spa operations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Uphold the Nūrtūr Core Values and Behaviors and Aveda Success Factors
  • Manage and grow the Institute and Salon + Spa as profitable businesses while maintaining the standards as established by the Aveda Corporation.
  • Build relationships with community partners and leaders for synergies and awareness.
  • Partner with the Salon + Spa Manager and the Institute Director to grow both the retail and salon business.
  • Promote and partner with the Columbus community (nonprofits, fashion shows, etc.) to build awareness for the Institute and Salon + Spa in the region.
  • Collaborate with Institute Director and the Senior Director of Institutes to leverage their curriculum for the Aveda Institute Columbus and meet and exceed guest and student expectations.
  • Ensure that the Institute budget is developed, profit goals are met, and programs are implemented for success.
  • Promote collaboration between the Institute and Salon + Spa teams to create growth opportunities for both organizations.
  • Facilitate and lead regularly scheduled meetings with team members and attend corporate leadership meetings as required.
  • Work closely with the corporate Human Resources team to facilitate effective recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes, and communicate staffing needs.
  • With the Institute Director and Salon + Spa Manger, coach team members.
  • Support company initiatives by ensuring business goals are met as established by the President and Leadership Team.
  • Collaborate with the corporate Marketing team to develop and implement guest and student outreach initiatives and raise the visibility of the Institute and the Salon + Spa in the greater Columbus market.
  • Provide ongoing recognition, support, and motivation for all Institute and Salon + Spa team members.
  • Serve as a role model by communicating and enforcing policies and procedures, safety and security standards, the Code of Conduct, and the dress code.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or required to meet business needs

 

The Key Requirements:

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, Experience:

  • 10+ years proven management or leadership experience, preferably in the Higher Education, higher-end Retail, or Hospitality industry.
  • Strong business acumen and experience managing a P&L.
  • Track record of managing and growing a profitable, well-regarded market leader.
  • Ability to bring new energy to the market and inspire team members to achieve their goals.
  • Experience being the face of an organization with key customers and community organizations.
  • Marketing and social media experience a plus.
  • Ability to set and achieve goals, implement decisions, and work under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and/or on-call schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, train and retain top talent.
  • Exhibit self-direction, initiative, resourcefulness, and follow-through with the ability to work at a fast pace and handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate extreme professionalism in manner, dress, and conduct.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • College education or relevant work experience in a similar role.
