KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (JOB SUMMARY)

MCC is seeking an experienced Plant Controller who can partner with site leadership to drive and improve operational performance and profitability in Batavia, Ohio. A Plant Controller protects the assets of MCC through direction of the financial activities and ensuring that all transactions are compliant with legal requirements.  Ultimately, this role will minimize MCC liability, provide daily support and added value to the Finance Organization and the facility, and perform all functions of talent management of employees. As member of the Finance, Accounting, and Plant Management Teams, the Plant Controller will lead the financial function for the local facility, supporting the plant to achieve overall corporate financial objectives. Additional key responsibilities include: 

  • Financial/Business Partnership: Partner with all members of the site leadership team to ensure ownership and accountability of financial performance.
  • Forecasting: Manage the forecasting process including analyzing trends and patterns, determining those impacts and making recommendations for the plant.
  • Business Strategy: Assist the Plant Manager in the achievement of overall strategy.
  • Cost Accounting, Inventory and Assets: Manage systems to ensure current, accurate and complete accounting and reporting of job costs, overhead, inventory, controls and policies, and physical counts.
  • Month-End Close: Manage month end closing and associated balance sheet, accruals and reconciliations.
  • People: Build, develop and manage a high-performing team responsible for Finance and Accounting functions.  

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • 10+ years as a leader and financial manager with a strong operational focus.
