JOB SUMMARY:   

The Product Development Engineer will join an already dynamic engineering team. This individual will develop thermal management solutions for shipment of temperature-sensitive goods and support the existing packaging solutions of the company.

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • The Product Development Engineer will work with the sales team and customers to gather information to successfully design thermal solutions to meet the customer requirements.  
  • Will manage all aspects of engineering work according to a documented product development process, from concept to production release
  • Develop internal systems to drive time-to-market reductions for custom product development
  • Supports sales, quality, production and other functional teams within CSafe with data regarding product performance, including but not limited to cost analysis, competitive equipment comparisons

 

IDEAL CANDIDATES’ QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated experience with a 3D CAD package (Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.)
  • Proven success at setting and maintaining schedules
  • Enjoy and succeed at working collaboratively with other disciplines such as Test Lab, Production, Quality, and Procurement.
  • Experience with developing and conducting performance testing and data gathering projects a plus
  • Experience with engineering simulation packages a plus (Thermal Simulation, FEA, etc.)
  • Other experiences that would help this individual be successful but not required include exposure to an ISO 9001, 13485 or 14971 environment, knowledge of Medical Device electrical safety requirements (IEC60601-1) and/or experience in a highly regulated industry (with a emphasis on FAA or FDA regulations), understanding and work experience with basic thermodynamic concepts, especially energy transfer, energy storage and heat loss.
  • Experience performing Risk Assessment on existing and new products or designs
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions involving energy storage, insulation, user interfaces, and/or control systems, where thermal management is a driving concern.
  • Ability to research and present new materials, designs and/or processes, for consideration by management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Packaging Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 3 + years’ experience developing effective products for low-volume, high-mix production.

This role is designed to be onsite Monday-Thursday with work from home option on Fridays.
