GENERAL SUMMARY OF ROLE:

As Sr Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of active temperature control management system, IoT wireless sensor and the associated accumulation and analysis of data. This will include physical and remote user interface, sub system control and management, data capture, wireless control, transfer and processing of IoT digital data. The accurate temperature management and control via wireless secure communication of our transportation solutions is paramount to ensure temperature sensitive products are transported safely and meet global regulatory standards. The associated data from the shipment will be used to verify temperature compliance, route & stakeholder performance, identify lane or process risk and improvement opportunities. 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners regarding systems design status, project progress, final acceptance and validation and be capable of managing significant implementation projects.
  • Ability to lead system integration of low voltage electrical components and subsystem including power management, compressor cooling controls, battery charging, heating components through a physical or remote access control system user interface.
  • Ability to develop and validate product control algorithms/firmware and work closely with hardware and
  • software vendors to ensure robust and reliable control system and user interface.
  • Ability to identifying and integrating new datasets and technology that can be leveraged through our product portfolio and supply chain visibility platform.
  • Focus on capabilities of gathering data to allow the analytics of IoT data for trends, patterns and improvements in the cold chain process and shipment routing.
  • Software and Firmware systems testing methodology, including execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
  • Employ an array of technological languages and tools to securely connect systems together both wired and wirelessly and allow the capture and transfer of data securely.
  • Ensure that all systems meet the business/company requirements as well as industry and regulatory practices associated with operational performance, standards, data security and management policies.
  • Develop and maintain all aspects of project schedules and deliverables. 
     

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) or physical test analysis to identify and rectify root cause to ensure robust and reliable product design.
  • Knowledge in the use of RESTful API for the safe and secure transfer of data from different applications, operating systems and related web technologies for IoT devices.
  • Understanding of SQL would be beneficial, enabling the generation of queries and research into the underlying data when diagnose a problem with an integration, propose new integration points, building reports, etc.  

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent that includes electrical controls and IoT technology.
  • 5+ Years’ experience in a related field with real-world skills
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Matlab, Solidworks, Project, and Office 365 preferred
