WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
The Vice President of the Chemical Vertical Market will serve as the senior executive responsible for driving strategic direction, operational excellence, and business growth for Jedson Engineering’s Chemical sector. This leader will shape and scale a high-performing vertical aligned with Jedson’s strategic vision, financial goals, and commitment to delivering best in-class capital project solutions.
Success in this role requires deep expertise in chemical processing industries, proven leadership in complex engineering environments, and the ability to foster a high-performance culture.
Specifically, responsibilities for this role include:
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
- Develop and execute the long-term strategic plan for Jedson’s Chemical Vertical, including strategic positioning, market expansion, service differentiation, and multi-year revenue targets.
- Drive full P&L ownership, ensuring sustainable, profitable growth across all chemical sector accounts and projects.
- Identify emerging markets, technologies, and client opportunities to expand Jedson’s footprint in the chemical processing industry.
- Build and maintain C-suite relationships with key clients, ensuring Jedson is viewed as a trusted strategic partner.
- Lead major pursuit strategies, proposals, and go/no-go decisions for EPC/EPCM opportunities.
- Serve as the executive ambassador for Jedson at industry conferences, technical forums, and professional associations.
- Advance innovative approaches that challenge industry norms and elevate Jedson’s competitive position.
Sales Leadership
- Hands-on responsibility for all aspects of the sales program to the chemical industry.
- Personally lead certain account teams and opportunities. Provide mentorship for account managers and operations staff engaged in sales activities.
- Emphasize the importance of sales planning and the development of win plans for significant opportunities. Lead by example.
Operational Excellence
- Partner with Project Directors, PMs, and discipline leaders to reinforce best-practice execution models and technical standards. Oversee end-to-end project execution—safety, engineering quality, schedule, cost, and client satisfaction.
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of work processes, project controls, and delivery tools across the vertical.
- Conduct executive project reviews with PMs, GM, COO, and CFO, ensuring projects meet or exceed business performance targets and issues are escalated early and resolved decisively.
- Champion a culture where every project decision begins with safety in mind.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide visible, people-centered leadership that reinforces Jedson’s culture of collaboration, high performance, and accountability.
- Develop, mentor, and grow high-potential talent across project teams, discipline groups, and leadership pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with HR to support workforce planning, recruiting, talent development, and succession strategies.
- Ensure strong cross-office and cross-discipline collaboration, providing consistency in client experience across the organization.
- Lead with People-Centered Leadership, creating an environment where employees are supported, challenged, and motivated to deliver their best.
IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline required, advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in the Chemical industry, including proven success managing EPC/EPCM projects.
- Demonstrated executive leadership managing large, complex business units, verticals, or programs.
- Strong track record of client development, revenue generation, and P&L ownership.
- Provide hands-on sales leadership for all aspects of the chemicals sales program
- Oversee end-to-end project execution providing operational excellence to the team
- Provide visible, people-centered leadership that reinforces Jedson’s culture
- Deep understanding of chemical processes, regulatory frameworks, operational risks, and industrial safety standards.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and strategic decision-making skills.
- Experience working within a consulting/EPCM engineering environment.
- Established network across petrochemical, specialty chemical, and industrial chemical markets.
- Prior leadership of multidiscipline engineering and project execution teams.
- Experience scaling a business unit through technology, process optimization, and organizational development.
