WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Reporting to the President, this hands-on Controller will manage all aspects of the monthly close process and financial reporting, develop accurate budgets and cash flow forecasts, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and contribute to strategic financial decision-making to drive the on-going success of the company. This role also:

  • Manages day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash management.
  • Prepares and presents accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with GAAP.
  • Oversees cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Manages the coordination of external audits and tax filings, ensuring that all necessary documentation and compliance requirements are met.
  • Provides in-depth analysis of financial performance, offering insights and recommendations to senior management on areas for improvement or risk mitigation.
  • Identifies and implements improvements to accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Trains and develops accounting staff.
  • Communicates with other management functions to facilitate effective operations and exceptional customer service.

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA) preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
  • Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience in managing audits and tax filings.
