WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

In this key role, you’ll oversee all aspects of payroll processing for over 450 employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You’ll collaborate with HR, finance, and external partners to optimize payroll operations, resolve discrepancies, and enhance system efficiencies. You will also:

  • Own Payroll Processing – Oversee and execute weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees with accuracy, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Maintain Compliance – Ensure payroll meets all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Keep Records Spotless – Manage employee data, timekeeping, and benefits deductions with precision.
  • Be the Go-To Expert – Partner with HR and finance to manage inquiries and ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding.
  • Collaborate with Vendors – Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, W-2 processing, and payroll system updates.
  • Improve & Innovate – Implement system upgrades and process enhancements to drive efficiency.
  • Build Relationships – Maintain effective communication with employees, fostering trust and reliability.

Please Note: This is a 100% onsite role with occasional travel to other company locations.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification also preferred.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing – you know the ins and outs of different state regulations.
  • Knowledge of service industry payroll complexities.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and time & attendance systems – experience with Paycor is a bonus.
  • Strong accounting and payroll tax knowledge – you understand the numbers behind the process.
  • A comfortable communicator – builds relationships and establishes trust and credibility in a critical function.
  • Ability to adapt and implement changes – payroll laws evolve, and you’ll help keep us in compliance.
  • Strong skills in Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, etc.
