WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING 

The Composites Production Supervisor oversees daily production operations within a manufacturing facility to ensure efficient, timely, and quality output. This role involves managing production staff, enforcing safety standards, optimizing workflows, and coordinating with other departments to meet production goals.

Staff Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of production workers to meet production schedules
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to improve skills and efficiency
  • Monitor workflow, assign tasks
  • Perform disciplinary actions when needed
  • Conduct performance evaluations and employee feedback sessions

Production Coordination:

  • Ensure that production targets, quality standards, and delivery deadlines are consistently met.
  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, and request supplies as needed.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Work with engineering to maintain and optimize equipment performance and reliability

Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction:

  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies and implement solutions to optimize productivity
  • Lead initiatives to improve cycle time, reduce scrap, and optimize resource utilization
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Use process monitoring tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Prepare and communicate reports and presentations on process efficiency, yield improvement, and cost-saving initiatives
  • Recommend data-driven solutions to enhance manufacturing productivity

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with R&D, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to align process improvements with business objectives
  • Participate in new product development (NPD) and scale-up activities to ensure manufacturability
  • Coordinate with quality control, maintenance, logistics, and planning departments to ensure smooth operations.

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent work experience
  • Exclusive U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a U.S. DoD security clearance.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience managing people.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and customer web-based portals.
  • Aerospace industry and/or composites experience is a plus.
  • Experience using Lean tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of textile weaving and composite materials is a plus.
