ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a large, fast-growing company based in Cincinnati with operations throughout the US. The company has experienced significant growth in the past ten years and plans to more than triple revenues over the next eight years through organic growth and acquisitions. This growth provides substantial career opportunities in the merger and acquisition group and organization. This newly created role will report to the Leader of Merger and Acquisitions.
You can work remotely; however, a large degree of travel (50%) might be required to Cincinnati and/or acquired companies depending on business needs.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
The Acquisition Integration Manager plays a critical role in the corporate development function by participating in the full M&A cycle from strategy, planning, financial modeling, due diligence, and integration.
The role will have a heavy focus on planning, aligning, and executing the integration process. This role’s main responsibility is to ensure that the newly acquired company is seamlessly integrated into the parent organization, maximizing the value of the acquisition, and minimizing disruption.
In between transactions, the role develops and applies financial and analytical skills to support initiatives driving organizational improvement. Specific duties include:
- Participate in the Full Merger Acquisition Cycle: Support strategy development, target identification , sourcing, business forecast, due diligence , and integration with a heavy focus on integration.
- Develop Integration Plans: Create detailed integration roadmaps that outline key milestones, timelines, and goals post-acquisition, and align the plan with various stakeholders. Understand the priorities, operating needs, risks, and responsibilities of the different work streams, and anticipate, plan, and solve for cross functional interdependencies.
- Coordinate Across Functions: Collaborate with various departments (e.g., finance, HR, IT, operations, legal, safety) to ensure smooth integration across all business areas.
- Monitor Integration Progress: Regularly track and report on the status of the integration, identifying key achievements and areas requiring attention.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a point of contact for all stakeholders (internal and external), ensuring that everyone is informed, aligned, and working toward common integration goals.
- Process Alignment: Align and standardize business processes, workflows, and technologies across organizations, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
- Identify Risks: Proactively identify potential risks and issues that could hinder the integration process (e.g., regulatory hurdles, operational challenges, market conditions).
- Issue Resolution: Take responsibility for solving problems that arise during the integration process, working with cross-functional teams to resolve conflicts or bottlenecks.
- Due Diligence Follow-Through: Ensure that any issues uncovered during the pre-acquisition due diligence process are addressed during integration, including financial, operational, and compliance-related concerns.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of the integration process.
- Post-Integration Review: After the integration is complete, conduct a review of the process to assess the overall success and identify areas for improvement in future acquisitions.
- Drive Innovation: Look for innovative ways to streamline the integration process and maximize the benefits of acquisitions.
- Commercial Profitability Initiatives: function as a business partner with various groups to learn and enhance the performance of the organization by analyzing information, providing financial analytics and forecast support, and leveraging data and research to offer business insights.
IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5+ years of experience in M&A/corporate development/acquisitions integration
- Strong computer skills (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)
- Financial and operational acumen to help identify and influence organizational improvement
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships with internal colleagues and externally with potential targets to achieve extraordinary outcomes
- Strong project management skills with ability to influence a large group of stakeholders
- Ability to travel to Cincinnati or acquired companies as needed during the M&A process—targeted at 50%.
