KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (JOB SUMMARY)

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will manage the companies’ finances, including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, financial reporting, annual budgets, and analysis of data, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and local, state and federal requirements. The CFO ensures established processes are followed to mitigate risk and safeguard company assets. The CFO will serve as an advisor and strategic partner to the President, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Management team. Leading a team of seven employees, the CFO will:

  • Maintain relationships with financial stakeholders, including, but not limited to: Banks, Bonding, Vendors, Customers, Owners
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the leadership team to promote teamwork throughout the organization
  • Manage the organizations’ cash flow and capital structure
  • Oversee the month-end close process, with a financial close date of the 10th of each month
  • Promote an environment of efficient use of resources throughout the organization and seek to gain efficiency in every aspect of the business
  • Ensure chart of accounts, financial reporting software and related integrations are maintained and structured appropriately
  • Manage high level employee benefits package, creation, and administration
  • Maintain relationships with financial stakeholders, including, but not limited to: Banks, Bonding, Vendors, Customers, Owners
  • Maintain relationships with commercial insurance and employee benefits providers
  • Lead the development of the Company’s annual budgets and ongoing forecasts at a detailed level
  • Review and execute all company contracts as a part of companywide risk management practices
  • Develop finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establish functional objectives in line with organizational strategy
  • Establish finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change
  • Develop organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; project acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; accumulating capital to fund expansion
  • Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans
  • Measure and analyze financial results and budgets and make recommendations necessary for change or improvement; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances;
  • Manage the Company’s annual audit and review engagements with external accountants
  • Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP on a timely basis each month
  • Work with outside accounting firms for audit, review, financial and tax-related aspects of the companies
  • Serve as the financial authority, ensuring the integrity of fiscal data and modeling transparency and accountability

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of finance and accounting leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree and MBA preferred.
  • CPA or CMA a plus
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strategic planning and quality management
  • Problem resolution experience
  • Exceptional knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate concisely to all levels of staff
  • Experience collaborating directly with executive teams and stakeholders.
