Jedson Engineering is an Engineering Consultancy headquartered in Cincinnati, OH.  We provide full-service engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services to industrial process manufacturers that operate in Consumer Products, Food & Beverage, Pulp & Paper, Chemical, Power and Heavy Industrial markets across the nation. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:  

Reporting to the SVP of Operations as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the General Manager will actively drive business growth and profitability of the company through a growing team of 120+ people in Cincinnati. The Cincinnati GM will work closely and collaboratively with the Vertical Market Leaders and other General Managers to coordinate operations, growth plans, and resource utilization across the company. The GM will have internal and external facing responsibilities and must naturally possess an entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to influence and lead dynamic cross-functional teams, and the ability to cultivate a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence in project delivery.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead Safety within your operation.
  • Help our customers achieve success.
  • Deliver project profitability.
  • Manage overhead costs appropriately.
  • In collaboration with Vertical Market Leaders, develop and execute business strategies that meet organizational goals.
  • Effectively align operational structure and provide office leadership to meet financial goals and deliver superior project performance.
  • Strategically hire talent within the organization that will support the business growth and project execution strategies.
  • Support Account Managers with planning and implementation of account development and opportunity-specific sales strategies.
  • Active leader in sales, project initiation and project review meetings with clients.
  • Ultimately responsible for the full P&L of your market, the GM will develop annual plans, manage financial performance throughout the year, oversee G&A expenses, and participate in sales efforts as needed.
  • Bring, champion, and implement best practices to internal operations to get projects done more effectively and efficiently, while maximizing and developing talent.
  • Works closely with SVP of Operations to coordinate strategic hires, physical office decisions, training and development and other large initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and future clients.
  • Work closely with operations leaders to effectively manage operational overhead.
  • Collaborate with corporate support functions including finance, HR, IT, etc. to establish and execute business plans and company strategies.

 

YOUR IDEAL BACKGROUND:

  • BS in an Engineering discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 20 years in an Engineering Services environment with 15 years of leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience managing P&L in an Engineering Services environment.
  • Experience in a growth-oriented engineering firm is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding and prior experience supporting the following industries: chemical, pulp and paper, food and beverage and consumer products.
  • Demonstrated success in leading people, driving sales, and developing new market opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a keen awareness of target client needs.
  • Project a sincere desire and ability to work within a cross-functional, matrix team environment, both locally and at a corporate level.
  • Must have project management experience and demonstrate the ability to deliver projects on time and financially successful.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Travel expectation is up to 25%, mostly regional.
