Our long-term client, Stedman Machine, based in Aurora, Indiana, is a market leader in customized capital equipment manufacturing. In business for over 180 years, Stedman sells into various processing industries and is currently experiencing rapid sales and profit growth both in North and South America.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Reporting to the Accounting & HR Manager, the Human Resources Generalist will execute a wide range of human resources duties and will understand the importance of interpersonal communication and building trust with their colleagues. The successful candidate will guide and support managers and employees in a variety of human resources areas such as helping resolve employee relations issues and ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and the law. This includes creating and orchestrating compliance-related training. The Human Resources Generalist will:

  • Manage and execute the full cycle recruitment process to include sourcing, screening, interviewing, testing, and onboarding candidates.
  • Administer employee benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs in compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity in the HR and payroll systems.
  • Administer all processes related to STD, LTD, FMLA, and ADA including communications with managers as needed.
  • Manage and administer workers’ compensation claims and safety compliance documentation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of talent management strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Administer organizational communications to include internal emails, bulletin board postings, announcements, mailings, organizational changes, and other company news.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding employee relations issues, company policies and procedures, and legal compliance.
  • Administer and assist in the delivery of employee training programs.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of the employee handbook, company policies, and organizational chart.
  • Gather and analyze HR metrics as requested.
  • Perform other related human resources duties as assigned.

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of successful experience in HR generalist duties or a similar role, with previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Proficient in the use of HRIS systems such as Paylocity or ADP.
