ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a large, fast-growing company based in Cincinnati with operations throughout the US. The company has experienced significant growth in the past ten years and plans to more than triple revenues over the next eight years through organic growth and acquisitions. This growth provides substantial career opportunities in corporate development, mergers, and acquisitions. This newly created role is located at the corporate office in Cincinnati, Ohio and onsite 5 days/week.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Reporting to the Director of Mergers & Acquisitions, this position will provide leadership and oversight of the M&A process from deal sourcing to closure and acquisition integration. This role will also:

  • Work with marketing to maintain external information used to promote the company.
  • Maintain opportunity pipeline information. Build and maintain relationships with brokers, bankers, and field executives.
  • Work with internal and external resources to prepare and maintain appropriate market analysis and identify targets.
  • Manage notes, follow ups, etc. across all targets.
  • Create initial analysis and summaries for all opportunities based on intake/teasers—including target information, initial financial models, match with corporate’s strategic goals, etc.
  • Create and report deal flow metrics.
  • Work with third party legal to ensure appropriate documents are prepared (i.e., NDA, LOI).
  • Analyze and compile financial data from potential acquisition candidates.
  • Perform financial forecasting and modeling. Enhance current models in place.
  • Create deal book presentations for internal executives and board. Outline strategic value, ROI, synergies, risks.
  • Assist with due diligence processes. Work with third parties such as attorneys, insurance, consultants, and other experts to ensure all diligence is completed.
  • Work with internal cross functional functions (i.e., operations, IT, accounting) during the integration process.
  • Manage data room information.
  • Offer ideas to improve the M&A process and technology.

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • 2+ years of experience in M&A/corporate development/transaction advisory services
  • Strong computer skills (specifically Excel and PowerPoint) and financial modeling skills
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with internal colleagues and externally with potential targets to achieve extraordinary outcomes
  • Ability to travel 25% or as needed during the M&A process
