ABOUT THE COMPANY
Brixey & Meyer Capital (www.BMCgrowth.com), based in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a private equity firm which currently owns seven distinctly different but established portfolio companies. The firm enjoys a pristine reputation and a proven history of successful acquisitions and other growth initiatives consistent with the strategy of each portfolio company. This newly created leadership role is located at the corporate office in Cincinnati, Ohio and onsite occasionally with periodic travel to portfolio companies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (JOB SUMMARY)
This role will report to the Director of Portfolio Management and provide financial oversight and guidance through a consultative approach to Brixey & Meyer’s portfolio companies. This individual acts with a sense of urgency to professionalize the finance functions of the businesses and strives to optimize the financial profile of each portfolio company. The Senior Financial Advisor – Portfolio Management will be primarily responsible for:
- Work with Brixey & Meyer to develop and operationalize financial strategies at portfolio companies post-transaction unique to each company and in alignment with Brixey & Meyer’s overall strategy and goals for each company.
- Act as an advisor and liaison between each portfolio company and Brixey & Meyer Capital with respect to financial oversight, strategic business plans, company performance, and oversight of monthly financial reporting. Work with portfolio company’s CFO/Accounting team to improve the management reporting process.
- Assist portfolio company leadership with the following finance related areas:
- Forecasting, including budgets and re-forecasts
- Profitability analysis (pricing, cost management, profitable growth, business segment analysis)
- Cash management (net working capital, capital expenditures)
- Banking relationships with lenders including monthly and quarterly meetings
- Compensation plan structuring and analysis
- Provide insight and assistance to portfolio companies as they onboard to Brixey & Meyer on integration activities focused on accounting/finance processes, systems, reporting, etc.
- Format and produce report, results, analysis for Brixey & Meyer management, committees, lenders, and other shareholders.
- Analyze data, identifying further areas for financial improvements, and make recommendations to Brixey & Meyer on projects to undertake.
- Take an interest in the operational performance of each business and look for improvement opportunities outside of accounting and finance.
- Share portfolio company competitive intelligence with Brixey & Meyer, especially opportunities for add on/tuck in acquisitions to platforms.
- Provide project management support on key portfolio company initiatives.
- Serve occasionally in interim leadership roles to portfolio companies.
IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years of success including experience in a finance role leading strategic direction and growth
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- CPA a plus but not required
- Experience working for a PE firm or PE owned operating company
- Experience working in or with firms with debt on their balance sheet: cash management, capital expenditure management, working with lenders and banks
- Experience collaborating directly with executive teams and stakeholders
- Exceptional knowledge of financial planning & analysis
- Ability to travel 25% to portfolio companies
