WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
As part of the HR Leadership Team reporting to the Chief People Officer, you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing and executing a Total Rewards strategy supporting the company as it scales the organization for exponential growth. The VP, Total Rewards (VP TR) will be an experienced and strategic leader who has a passion for driving and executing the Employee Value Proposition to deliver a differentiated, market competitive advantage in the area of Benefits, Compensation, Recognition, and Well-Being Strategy. The VP TR will design, develop, implement, and execute Total Rewards cutting-edge, best practice methodology, tools, processes, systems, and programs to drive an integrated approach to Total Rewards and will institutionalize how Henny Penny approaches the total Employee Experience to address the whole employee and their respective needs during throughout the entire employee life cycle (hire to retire) to deliver long-term sustained positive Employee Experiences.
- Strategic Total Rewards for Scaling a Global Business
- Lead the strategic design, communications, implementation, execution and compliance for all Total Rewards programs, policies, and processes.
- Outline a Compensation Philosophy to ensure fairness, equity, competitiveness (internally and externally) as it relates to base salary, short and long-term incentives, and total cash compensation including ESOP participation.
- Lead the innovation, design, and implementation of a comprehensive Benefits strategy and a creative Employee Recognition plan.
- Operational Excellence
- Build and scale the TR capabilities, processes, and practices for growth, utilizing systems to simplify implementation and utilization.
- Develop simple tools to use for recruiters, candidates, and employees to effectively communicate all aspects of a Total Rewards Compensation Package.
- Build an appropriate team to support the Total Rewards strategy and operation.
- Educate and embed a Compensation, Benefits, and Employee Recognition culture and mindset as an essential element of the Employee Experience for a best place to work and grow.
- Partner with CPO, CFO and Communications function to effectively articulate the value story of HPs compensation, benefits, and recognition programs.
- Lead successful annual compensation planning including but not limited to execution of base salary, bonus, short and long-term incentives, and related benefits strategy including communications and administration.
- Provide consultation, education, and recommendations on concerns/issues pertaining to employee wellness and wellbeing.
- Align Total Rewards Strategy with Business Strategy
- Align with leadership, including all C-suite executives, Legal and the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors on strategic plans for Executive Compensation.
- Provide thought leadership to the business on compensation issues including executive compensation, new hire packages, performance recognition, incentive plans, retention arrangements and overall compensation structure.
- Establish and maintain alignment between Performance Management and future Succession Planning processes and pay programs.
- Partner cross-functionally and externally on current and future equity programs; ensuring that they are competitive, and administration is set to scale globally.

THE KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Must live in or a commutable distance from Eaton, OH. Relocation assistance will be provided
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field. Master’s Degree in Business or related field preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience leading, developing, and executing Total Rewards Strategy (compensation, benefits, and recognition).
- Experience in articulating a vision and compelling Total Rewards Value Proposition for a highly successful business scaling for growth.
- Strong preference for global experience and understanding of international compensation and benefit practices.
- Demonstrates and articulates the business ROI strategy, for Total Rewards driven and supported by data.
- Robust analytical and strong strategic agility, vision, and organizational savvy in all aspects of Total Rewards.
- Demonstrated ability to create a compensation structure where none existed previously.
- Proven history/record delivering results from a Total Rewards vantagepoint.
- Adept experience working with business leaders to understand their needs to inform the Total Rewards strategy.
- Strong business and financial acumen and current on HR technology.
- Flexible and able to multitask; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
