ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CCBVI), based in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a leading Braille Print publisher and distributor that employs blind and visually impaired (BVI) staff in its operations. CCBVI also offers vital services to the BVI community, including a low vision clinic, an adaptive sports program, a Braille Challenge, and summer camps for BVI children. CCBVI has a $33 million endowment.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
CCBVI is seeking a dynamic and visionary CEO to lead its mission of empowering individuals who are blind or visually impaired to live active, productive, and independent lives. The ideal candidate will bring strong nonprofit leadership and fundraising experience, along with a business-minded approach and solid financial acumen. Experience in operational excellence—particularly within disability services or publishing—is highly desirable. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and manages an eight person leadership team and a staff of 80.
- Champion the mission, foster partnerships and advocate for the BVI community.
- Manage a diverse team, including BVI employees, with empathy and inclusion.
- Oversee budgeting, program development and stakeholder engagement, with the goal of making the organization financially self-sustaining.
- Lead fundraising initiatives to grow financial resources and community support.
- Oversee strategies to improve print and distribution operations efficiency and financial outcome.
IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Over a decade of impactful leadership and strategic management experience
- Extensive, hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector through professional and/or volunteer leadership roles
- Proven expertise in fundraising and strategic financial management
- Knowledge of industrial operations a plus
- Skilled in board development, engagement, and governance leadership
- Ability to build strong relationships, cultivate extensive networks, and foster compelling, outward-facing connections within the community
