Caring Place Healthcare Group (Caring Place) is a family-owned and operated post-acute care organization with over 50 years of serving patients, residents, and families with high-quality senior living and skilled nursing facilities in Greater Cincinnati and Kettering. Established to meet the growing demand to care for seniors in our community, Caring Place has grown to its present service area of 6 locations including four skilled nursing facilities and two senior living communities. This position is in Cincinnati, Ohio.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

This position is responsible for reporting to and partnering with the President & COO as a member of the senior leadership team. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will set Caring Place’s financial policy and direction while also being an active participant in, and driver of, the organization’s overall strategy and accounting and finance operations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (JOB SUMMARY)

The CFO will be a “hands-on” leader with responsibility to organize, plan, direct, evaluate, and communicate the financial performance of the business. The CFO will:

  • Lead and manage the Controller, accounting, financial reporting, and tax functions and make fiscal and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Manage the financial affairs of the organization.
  • Establish financial and budget goals in concert with senior management.
  • Advise executive staff on financial aspects of operations, assist in financial planning, modeling, analysis, management, and control.
  • Manage treasury functions including banking relationships.
  • Understand the business sufficiently to explain financial results in a business context (provide the story behind the numbers), recognize/ prioritize opportunities for process improvement, recommend present actions that will augment future financial results, and assess financial risk / rewards of growth and other strategic initiatives.
  • Supervise billing and payroll processing operations.
  • Assist in the management of retirement plans and provide oversight of insurance contracts.
  • Manage financial aspects of contract negotiations and monitor outcomes appropriately.
  • Evaluate, create, recommend, and implement appropriate financial controls.
  • Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and coach staff. Monitor staff performance and provide consistent feedback.

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission of Caring Place.
  • Bachelor’s degree (MA/MBA preferred) in Accounting, Business, or Management from an accredited college or university and CPA preferred.
  • 15+ years demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, specifically healthcare and/or post-acute care.
  • Expertise and positions held that required significant strategic financial planning and execution.
  • Demonstrated writing, speaking, and listening skills.
